The feudal system was a system where the aristocracy owned everything and the plebs worked the land and served the masters. The lords and masters controlled every aspect of a person's life from cradle to coffin and if you take ius primae noctis into account - maybe even before the cradle.
Now just replace Kings, Dukes and Earls with Corporations, government and burocracy and you have a pseudo feudal reset
Keep in mind that our corporations are controlled by a a handfull of individuals who in turn also control our governments and burocracy.
