The odds are just stacked against anyone trying to short a stock. It doesn't matter if you're eventually proven right if the stock is disconnected from fundamentals long enough, you'll lose. I can't imagine someone having money to invest in the stock market today and paying GYG @ $43 and expecting to do well with their investment over the next few years relative to every other investment out there. It seems puzzling but the market isn't logical - at least in the short to medium term.
