Snider says: "Are you forgetting that it is
illegal to enter Australia the way they are.

Untrue. On Australia's behalf Bob Menzies
signed UN conventions on Refugee Rights
and the rights of prisoners and children.

Under the UN Refugee Convention it's legal for
refugees to enter Australia to seek asylum. So
labelling refugees who do that as 'Illegal' is
not in accord with what Australia signed.

Hence Rudd wants to trash or modify the
UN Refugee Convention to make his plan
to convert PNG into a penal colony legal.

It's all dirty tricks and smoke and mirrors.
But one thing stands like stone. We treat
refugees like vermin. That's racism.
