I have spoken with Ian Narev a few times and he is a very, very clever man and very reasonable and down to earth as well.
Is his salary worth 153 times anyone else? That's a judgement call, and probably one that only gets tested when things are in chaos and the resilience of a bank is strongly tested. Most CEO's wont get to experience that, and I would reckon most would not want to.
In the meantime, the bank Board and shareholders are OK with the salary and ultimately I guess it is their opinion that counts the most.
