The CBA is a $100+billion company. Would you let Wayne Swan run it? If so he would probably be happy to get paid $150k.

Wayne Swan types are a dime a dozen. They come cheap for good reason, they have a talent deficit.

There would have to be at least 100+ applicants to head the CBA. So what they want is someone with a proven track record. They will probably pick the one with the best record.

But candidates like Swan or better still Shorten need to be in there for comparison. Shorten would make all sorts of hyperbolic claims of stardom such as a near win in the 2016 election. Apart from that he would seem to be hot air. Picking the near win in the 2016 apart he relied too much on the Mediscare which is now an illegal tactic. Even though he would argue that it was perfectly legal at the time and a brilliant idea, I think the interviewing panel would smell Royal Commissions if Bill got the job.

It is only when you get into speculation that danger emerges.
If banks are to fail, let them.
I agree with Mr Trump that banks need to be downsized
