Is Inflation fears being used as a market manipulator to short markets

Got me thinking seeing today's crash in ASX tech stocks across the board how influenced ASX tech is by these talks of fears of inflation..
While I believe we will see inflation, I think there are some very very big players in the market creating shorting opportunities by driving this media message of doom and gloom knowing the impact it has on these tech stocks then shorting them before the news comes out.

I'm talking companies with billions of dollars doing this....
Conspiracy theory or are we all being played as puppets ?
