I have always been a long investor until the last 6 months when as part of normal investment scoping you look at a lot of prospects and realise how many have weak balance sheets, overhyped prospects, questionable mangement and time bomb contracts ( not usually all 4 in most but the more the better) .
shorting will not cause these companies prices to drop, only when reality hits. why not get ahead of the curve and profit ? if iam wrong, i lose, the same as buying a stock and having it fall.
btw. hold some bottom draw CDA. entered at 2.and sold enought for free carry in the 3's. i wouldnt want to short this as has always generated enough cashflow for product develeopment , divies and low debt. but if others want to, that is their call. we will see what update brings.
