The term Islamist was a term "invented" by the USA in about 2001 as a description that the politicians could use to describe the people responsible for all the mayhem and hopefully not annoy or denigrate the rest of the Muslim population by calling suicide bombers etc - Muslim suicide bombers

Every Islamist is a Muslim

IMHO after reading all that is available and listening to TV reports, the definition between the two is that Islamist's are those that have been caught and Muslims who follow the Quran as well, but who have not come to the attention of our laws because both groups follow the same teachings.

It is very hard or impossible to draw a comparison with Christians except if there was a Christian war being waged against Indonesia and it's religion, I would not want to go there and say "but I am a friendly Christian" don't hurt me

I believe that the term Islamist is a false terminology and look at the statistics, in the USA African Americans have a acceptance and trust problem because of the enormously high proportion of black people who are in their jails, with the assumption if you are black the odds are that you are not to be trusted, this is the "if it looks like a duck ETC" syndrome, it is the same as racial profiling but it is a fact

So as far as trust and giving people permission to enter this country if they are Muslim we have to say no to all of them because regardless of their criminal activity or not they represent a known threat
