I suppose if I was inclined I could also think of numerous "what ifs" but the reality is as we are now beginning to see with a number of the rare earth metals, yes the very same rare earths that China has (had) a monopoly over, manufacturers are innovating their way around the shortage by building alternatives into the system.
Silver IMO will not be any different in fact in theory if what you say is correct it should already be evident?? I also believe that many more Ag deposits will either be discovered or non-economical ones become more economical keeping a lid on the price.
