My first 'puter was a CPM machine. Hated windows all my life and tried my darndest to get IBM's OS2 to work [it was better than windows], but they scrapped it.
I went to Mac years ago. I'm now using the latest Snow Leopard or whatever. It works the same as the first one I bought. The one absolute stand-out feature is the "Sleep" mode. Click the apple icon top left, click on sleep and the puter goes into a deep come using 1 W of power. To wake it up, hit return and it instantly opens where you were when you stopped.
Never spent a cent on security. Yea. I've been told before, they CAN get malware.
My son and his partner never have their phones out of their hands. While having a conversation they do a search as you talk and give the "authoritative" answer. WTF????
