ETS will sink a third of new LNG projects: APPEA
Thursday, 20 November 2008
"THE federal government’s proposed emissions trading scheme would result in the cancellation of a third of new liquefied natural gas projects, APPEA chief executive Belinda Robinson told a Senate Committee hearing into fuel and energy yesterday."
My understanding is PNG does not have an emissions trading scheme (correct me if I am wrong). Potentially an advantage against the Australian LNG projects coming onstream around the time of the PNG LNG project.
Cashed-up sharks eye tasty morsels
Thursday, 20 November 2008
"THE ill wind casting a chill over the global economy has proved helpful to at least a few oil and gas players, notably cashed-up companies whose revenue in US dollars or other foreign currency has them well placed for Australian shopping trips."
Hopefully, they will be going on a shopping trip to PNG as well!
Cheers
