Ha, exactly. Maybe they need some faraway places to have a proxy war with China, now there is a nuke threat. Look how they totally ruined Ukraine and drove their own economies into a death spiral. In fact Ukraine had a very strong US trained army, capable of beating any nation in the EU, maybe with the exception of Turkey and Russia(According to Scott Ritter). By keeping the prospect of Ukraine joining Nato open, they sabotaged any chance of avoiding war. I am sure they knowingly did that. Then they had a compliant actor in charge to guarantee war. We maybe don't have much better. Ukraine is now being put through hell. Why would anyone join those treacherous Europeans. My opinion, we need to keep our decision making independent while at the same time aligning with the US and the quad. The US political scientist Prof John Mearsheimer spoke about the danger to Australia being dragged into a proxy war at some time in one of his youtube discussions.
