Get rid of your broker is the first step, yes E*Trade is a good way to trade.
Read the books etc., then TAKE CONTROL, and rationalise your objectives in view of the economic background, use common sense, and be patient. Some things take time and can't be rushed.
I also started with a broker just over two years ago, allowed him to guide me with his "experience", against my instincts, only to see my money dwindle away. I took control, recovered all loses with HGO, LGL and CAH, comfortably ending up in the profit zone.
Now only into MMR and SVL, with reasonable holdings, and have not looked back. Am looking forward to the next 2-3 months. Have also hit a 10 bagger, which appears to be ready to move again (MMR). SVL, a more recent entry has already more than doubled in 6 months, has the makings of another 10 bagger.
As thecableguy says, watch it like a hawk!
So yes it can be done, and NO, nobody is going to do it for you. If they could, the'ld be doing it for themselves and would not want to know you!
