Last year this time A$ Gold was at 900-990 and in Feb09 it hit 1500. Now at 1170 up 25% at a time of the year when gold is in the doldrums.

Ok, it may dance in the 900's and go visit the 800's in sympathy but when it and not if it breaks 1000 - it will blow it out of the water and then 1000 becomes the floor.
Even SBM will make a profit when that happens. Could be sooner than you think.

Oh and "the US budget deficit accelerated in March to hit a record nearly $US1 trillion..." more than doubled the last 5 years - not what you want when assets are collapsing, tax revenues falling faster than SBM's SP, unemploynent rising and 100's billion dollar bailouts.

When the bond market in the US collapses, the next bubble to burst - watch what happens to Gold. Interesting times indeed.
