Labor needs to take risks imo and Rudd could be
    a positive move

The question must be asked...does Kevin Rudd really need to take risks though? He is quite comfortable I think, good salary, no stress, can do what he likes as Labor need his vote to stay in power.

Most including many Labor MP's it seems believe Labor will lose the election, mainly as there is far too much baggage and damage to their brand through mis management, scandal and a very bad choice of replacement for KR.
Even if KR did take the helm, why take a thrashing at the polls for something he really had no hand in?

If KR is smart, and I don't think he is a total dill, he will spend the next 7 odd months increasing his profile and shoring up his own seat.

And he did say he would not challenge again did he not, why would he want to be a seen as a liar like the incumbent Prime Minister?

Sit back, enjoy the scenery and watch gillard in her final death throws, then step into the Leader of the Opposition role in the new look Labor post election. If gillard survives in her seat he can then reward her loyalty by giving her nought except a seat on the back bench to warm.
