I would have preferred Tuscany to Asia...we rented a villa there for a while.
the food & wine was great, the people were great....didnt see many Muslims except around the cities, selling paintings....maybe that's changed now, I dont know.
Funny, saw this "Aboriginal" looking dude sitting on the footpath, in Florence, I think, dreadlocked and playing his didjeridoo rather well........ went up & asked him "where you from, bro?"
