$18 billion of divi's paid out last week from Oz companies

This figure does not mean anything as if they had bought shares in USA companies they would have received as much if not more in income, eg the income derived did not have anything to do with Australian companies
The fact is that when you look at Australia's income on a percentage of turnover it is pathetic

IE 18 billion but what was the turnover and or total profit

Similar to tax :- where we are told of great tax income but when you decipher the figures, it's a different story, a few year ago I did a breakdown of one of the big companies paying heaps of tax but on the breakdown they were paying a tax rate of 0.09 %
