I do understand the tax system in general terms

As to taxes, without going though the actual books it is hard to know what is actually TAX, as there are many other payments and there are terms used like "the contribution towards the economy " where every payment made to anyone is included" but does not isolate the actual business tax

All business makes many payments to councils, states and Fed Government as a course of business but what I am interested in is the actual business tax, tax on profits

I do not know if it is still used but in the USA they did have a mandatory set tax (10% ?) as the minimum tax paid regardless of the company making a profit or not
