is it too late to take up rights issue

yep...kick me: this is a silly question. I didn't take up the rights offered by NAL last month. My Etrade portfolio window shows the 50,000 rights sitting there with zero value against them. I suppose it's an Etrade boo-boo...but geez it would be nice to own these now.

Is it possible to send in a cheque after closing date and take up the Rights that were reserved? Assuming they havent been given to someone else.
