Further to my earlier comments & following some interesting leads my thirst for conspiracy theories about the sub-prime mess / global shorting of commodities & stocks by GSJBW, MS, UBS & DB [and likely backed by the US govt] finally appears to be getting traction / media coverage:

AHHhhh!! Bad guys on the run .... retribution in sight at last perhaps?
If market performance is all about confidence then just maybe Obama's selection of Geithner as Treasury secretary will come to represent a turning point in the global financial crisis - IMO all those US investment banks possibly shorting commodities & stocks with US govt backed money will now back off!
