But to me it's not about when someone bought them, but rather when they sold them. That's what is strange to me, not the fact that someone bought them to qualify, but that so many people were willing to sell just a day or two too early and now can't get the dividend.
Why did so many want to sell rather than take the div? Why would people have been selling down in the low 3's when they could have held and had a div worth 30% just a couple of days later?
