sadly our challenge is compounded by most girls being brought up on a never ending soup of fairy stories of one type or another. Even the adventurous girls, the smart girls or the ones with plenty of talent are fed a diet that involves men as pretty nice charming or a toad that can turn into a prince or a beast that is a disguised prince. Look at movies, advertisements, stories. They all spin that line

I have a theory that our problem is further compounded by the fact that the first female men encounter is their mother. Put aside those who are beyond incompetent and think about the fact this woman is in the role of life giver, nurturer. She feeds, bathers, takes care of that baby boy. She fusses over them, tries to keep them from crying or distress. That becomes the archetype. Maybe if the mother fails in that she breeds the beginnings of misogyny as well.

Maybe if the father is incompetent or useless it prevents full and healthy separation from the mother as an emerging man

almost all my friends, including those who are apparently happily partnered, say that they would not bother with repartnering if their husbands died before them. They simply find them a lot of effort Men may well find the same which suggests another issue entirely - our social structures aren’t that suited to humans

none of us know all the answers but we all have opinions.

men are just like women in that we think we understand better than anybody else. this is however dependent on the degree of actual knowledge, insight or understanding.

we might as well ask why misanthropic women choose relations with men who will abuse them. and there are misanthropic women. I suspect you to be one who holds such a view.

imo haters need a reason to hate although 90+% of this is buried underneath all the socialised beliefs in things like "White Wedding" and "he'll change, and I can change him". haters who don't realise their ability to hate need someone to identify as the target of their hatred.

but will sex is great and the feeling such sex inspires, often enough called "love", the unconscious hatred will remain buried until the sex loses it impetus, its motive in the relationship. then the claws come out.... remembering of course that all tigers have claws, male tigers are as fierce and female tigers until the female has kittens, then the female anger and fear of the male becomes overpowering.
