I grew up in a low socioeconomic environment
where violence was rife.
Went to school with and socialised with lots
of kids whose mothers were brutal.
Guess what, most of those kids became
violent abusers, alcoholics, gamblers,
druggies or criminals.
I have a few mates that I still talk to from my
childhood and after decades of thinking
something was wrong with them, they have
finally worked out where the seed was planted.
Some have redeemed themselves, others not
so lucky.
