    IMO, the right to protest impedes and deprives one of the most basic human conditions:  THE RIGHT TO WORK and the incumbent economic and social ramifications of the deprivation of work to individuals, businesses and the State.

    This was the case for farmers Peter Graham and the Caseys (in Doubtful Creek), the drillers and operators, truck drivers, fencers, etc.  The Bentley Blockaders indirectly affected the revenue earning capacity of the hoteliers, caterers, produce suppliers and wholesalers who were to cater for the police services.

    The new Victorian picketing laws that take effect on the 1st September recognise the perils of obstruction by protestors to those who are trying to access their place of work or carry out their work activities.  Will NSW follow?
