Unfortunately for us there are some people with money and no scruples who are persuaded by the likes of DP to assist in their cause.
The only thing that matters is the bottom line and what profit can be made,
Buy 50 million or so shares at a very low price, give me your votes and I will put out an announcement that will lift them so you can double your money.
All done secretly of course, can't be seen to do anything illegal,
Lucky for me I had those shares to issue at my discretion,
don't offer them again to shareholders as the opposition may get their hands on some and kick me out of office. (I have friends who could not afford to take up their issue and I would have loved some of them,)
The real slug in this is the person who bought the shares purely for the profit and with no care or concern for the company or its shareholders,
these people need to be cleaned out of the market and I don't hold a lot of confidence in ASIC being much help, typical of bureaucracies tied down in paperwork and political correctness.
