The other sticking point with watso is he is a Unitarian, at least at the beginning, and so in his view, the Word in John 1:1 is not a separate Person to the Father and uses the corrupted English translation to describe the Word "was toward" God and not "was with" God. He also says that the Word was the Father for the other part where it says the Word was God, which is a contradiction as the standard Bibles later say the Word became flesh to be among us as Jesus Christ. That would imply that Jesus Christ is the Father, which is ludicrous. It's not like what the JWs do when they claim the Word is a god but it's equally corrupt.

Note, the Concordant Version of the Bible compiled by the Concordant Publishing Concern (CPC), which was founded by Adolph Ernst Knoch in 1909 uses the word "toward" instead of "with" in John 1:1.
