You are confusing the use of the word "equality". Indeed the three Persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit are one God but the three Persons are not the same as each other. In other words, they are obviously not equal to each other.
Many Biblical verses support the following even though humans cannot fully comprehend a supernatural God in Heaven; incorporeal and independent of material creation.
1. There is one and only one God.
2. God is eternal and unchanging in nature and essence.
3. Jesus is the incarnate Son, who is God and was eternally with God as the Word of the Father.
4. The Word was never the Father.
5. The Son is not The Father.
6. The Holy Spirit is not an impersonal force but has divine Personhood, which is neither that of The Father, nor The Son.
