None of us plebs knows if the security services are run by idiots or not but if the politicians get a hand in choosing a new team ( including past pollies) then we may as well just ask the Chinese to chose whoever they prefer or send their own people to do the job

Once it becomes a political arm of the Labor Government it will cease to have any connection with security or spies IE oxymoron
