    It's always interesting to toss around speculative ideas.

    I recall when UMC was taken over by BHP the price of around $1.30ish per tonne was broadly viewed by holders as bargain basement and opportunistic.

    But times have changed and in hindsight that price looks very good for an exploration "in ground" resource and I personally don't think IOH will reach a valuation of $1.30 per tonne.

    We are actually getting too big for our own good in take-over terms now. Certainly too big to command $1.30 per tonne.

    Would a predator be willing to pay close to $1 billion for IOH? No chance IMHO. Certainly too much for FMG... Only RIO would have the capacity to pay that much - perhaps BHP but they have never been mentioned re:IOH.

    Chinese SWF might be able to find that amount kicking around somewhere though...
