    Debono, If governments spend like drunken sailors and have policies that fuel inflation it may not be possible to reduce interest rates. So no point referring to the media as they change their opinions from one day to the next and that includes economic analysts. And yes if they start going down and the economy kick starts again, from this point on it will be ticks to the current government, whereas if the reverse occurs it will be kicks not ticks.

    My post was in the context of a reply to a view that the current state of the economy was because the government had changed and I was pointing out that there is usually a lag time between government policy actions and the consequences of those actions in relation to economic issues. A reasonable proposition to me.
