Either these people are very superstitious about the number of shares ending in some lucky number (personally I just buy a nice round 5k, 10K or 20k - easier to juggle gains/losses come tax time etc) OR this is the work of what is commonly termed bots acting to accumulate a holding. Or I am also overthinking it
