is lack of guidance good or bad?

Is the lack of guidance going to be a good thing or a bad thing? Certainly its immediately bad in the sense that instos like companies to lead them water and prefer companies to stick their necks out. 8’m pretty sure this current bout of profitaking reflects that, and is another example of Kogan hasn’t yet matured as a company.
However the report itself is upbeat. There are many more irons in the fire, with mobile approaching 2% share which provides a great base for expansion, and the profit numbers demonstrate just how important this is. Vodafone may have previously shot themselves in the feet here, but they are a very large global company, and it seems they will be jointly promoting via the Kogan brand, a big positive in my view. Then we have all the other add ons including health and insurance, two industries ready for disruption.

Ok Amazon looms like the megamachine it is but Kogan still only has a very small % of the total online market, and tremendous momentum now, with clearly very good product strategies, given that almost all stock is under a year old. Doubt if Myer could boast that.

So my question. Is the lack of guidance because the board fears the Amazon steam roller may imoact this year on its traditional online retailing, or because the potential upside from all these new initiatives is not apparent yet so any guidance could be misleading. My instincts are the latter is the case.

The stock is unlikely to seriously test above $7 until we get some clarity in November, so short term traders are dumping today. I have sold a small amount this morning so I’ve cut my rating to hold for now, but finger is over the buy button if we over react.
