Rising share price nearly always reduces the liquidity problem in these tightly held things. Doesn't solve it completely. Always easier if the market will support a degree of capital raising for acquisitive growth - unfortunately, trying to issue rights or holding an spp is a bit of a gamble in this market. Placement to sophisticateds might work, but they are demanding their pound of flesh so not worth it at present.

Personally, for now, I would take patience and illiquidity over cheap dilution, unless they can secure a compelling acquisition that could be fully funded from cash/debt but can be used as an excuse to issue a little new capital at a reasonable price.
