HCT,
The $15-20m ALDP free cash would have spring boarded the SP, instead it went the other way, but it is interesting that there is buying today at the 0.006c level where we stood some 3 weeks ago....I'm not trying to ramp this one back up, but after reading the ann a couple of times now there are some very valid and positive points in it
India does have its own internal demand for thermal coal, so that sidesteps the requirement for part thereof at least for massive investment in ports; although with ALDP success we could have gotten the show on the road and constructing the demo here in victoria, albeit commercial volume product would be stranded for some years waiting on rail and port developments within Victoria
'By demonstrating in India, the Company will be present in a market that has immediate thermal coal demand and significant projected energy demand growth to underpin commercial expansion, without the price-distance impediment. '
'India is a significantly lower cost option for demonstration compared to Victoria and delivers the same result, which is Coldry validation.'
The demonstration plant has always to commercially validate Coldry, as was the initial point of ALDP , but which has changed it colours over the last few months and now you have to have cash to be in to win
'It makes financial sense to demonstrate at least cost. The same plant planned for demonstration in Victoria could be constructed in India for potentially less than half the cost and in around two thirds the time while still achieving the objectives of technical and commercial validation at scale.'
Potentially they could validate Coldry in India and come back into Australia as commercial.
It's worth reading the ann a couple of times; obviously the free cash would have been a great hooray today...
Fast tracking India...they were aiming at 2014 for a demo on LV , albeit Monash, ALDP cash....can these guys turn something around for half the cash that was required and demo in a country with internal thermal coal demand and a requirement to significantly increase base load power .....NLC will need to happen IMO
