There are additional scenarios that aren't being discussed here that might be very bad for retail:
1) Gina (and maybe others suddenly) start using the creeping provisions to increase their holdings a little bit each year for a few years. No full takeover is needed at they just eat it slowly. Look at 7 with Boral for a song.
2) big dilutive cap raising/ rights issue with support of big holders which changes the structure of the register so that cash strapped retail sitting on losses doesn't take up full allowance.
3) held in limbo until price gets low enough to do 1 or 2.
It's very sad IMO as retail will probably get burnt in this process. Don't rely on me though, these are just risks I see and I could be totally wrong. I'm not short or long, just an observer.
