I think we are being somewhat watched and nurtured from time to time at a distance. -------------- cmte, Rather than 'watched' I would suggest 'scrutinized'.
(2 Chronicles 16:9) For the eyes of Jehovah are roving about through all the earth to show his strength in behalf of those whose heart is complete toward him. (Psalm 11:4, 5) Jehovah is in his holy temple. Jehovah's throne is in the heavens. His own eyes see, his watchful eyes examine the sons of men. ?Jehovah examines the righteous one as well as the wicked one; He hates anyone who loves violence. You ask: (What happens if one day we have the opportunity to ask ourselves, 'do we genetically modify?') We are in fact being urged to do just that;(Romans 12:2) And stop being molded by this system of things, but be transformed by making YOUR mind over, that YOU may prove to yourselves the good and acceptable and perfect will of God. Because Adam sinned and was then in the process of dying before he fathered children all of us inherited a flawed genetic makeup. (Romans 5:12) God put in place a loving provision to rescue willing ones from the inevitable death we inherited. (Romans 5:18; John 3:16) This provision is not automatic. We need to learn what is required of us and then do it. (John 3:36) The one who exercises faith in the Son has everlasting life;the one who disobeys the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God remains upon him.
