You will see from the news there that SMS is a brilliant way for global asset tracking, very hand for wars and stuff.

The 66 Iridium satellites buzz so close to the Earth that an asset only needs a bit of mobile-phone circuitry to tell its owner where in the world it is. As opposed to a rather bulky satellite dish for geostationary ones.

I can't figure out what QAD announcements mean so you'll haveto do your own diligence.
