Australia has grown over the last couple of centuries with many different races putting their nose to the grindstone in an effort to make this a better country.
...and this lot of immigrants who had left their war torn homelands, through the proper channels, were asking what they could do for the country and not what the country should be doing for them.
We have too many 'asylum' seekers not willing to help themselves and a government with politically incorrect policies to fuel their whims.
I respect that people have genuine issues. Australia and other nations provide excellent services to assist.
The problems arise when too much leniency (soft wrist) is given in the name of culture. This is Australia and Australian customs and laws precede. If we can accomodate fair requests we will or else, to quote Ma Anand Sheela, tough titties.
