I seriously doubt the law will ever be able to do anything about multinick, even if someone is using it to ramp a stock.
Like so many other areas in life, it's a case of Caveat Emptor.
The law can't stop people being conned, anyone who believes everything about anonymous posts on the internet is a fool to themselves and a burden to others. People STILL get sucked in by the Nigerian scammers despite widespread public warnings.
It's law of the jungle folks, don't expect the authorities to rush in to protect you any time soon, if at all.
