You have to diversify for sure. I even diversify my investment case philosophy!
What I mean by that I allocate 25% of funds towards high growth - dividends irrelevant
(6 mths - 2 years)
CTD, OZL, WEB, CAR
25% towards value (1-3 years)
BLD, S32, CPU, OSH - last two has a mix of value + growth but a problem area as S32 slashed dividends.
25% towards "market darlings" as I call them in my portfolio mix (1 month to 3 years)
APT, GMG, RMD, REA
25% towards (turn around stories, good business that are out of favour - (6 mths to 3 years)
MYX, NUF, PTM, WOR
When I exit one I replace it with a like for like. Gets tricky when you are under weight/ over weight in some position and not intend to and need to shuffle crap around costing brokerage dollars a plenty is annoying.
