Yeah, they would be accused of manipulating the SP if follow up data throws up some grenades.
Still, they could have stated that the preliminary results were extremely positive, and that further analysis was still required to support initial findings - that may have covered some bases and proved they were undertaking due diligence. SH would have been happier with that as well.
