This article published in September is quite interesting as it explores alternative uses of iTrack. In the early 2010s there was a lot of talk about using iTrack as a drug delivery device to treat and potentially even cure diseases of the eye due to its unique properties. Even J&J was interested, and formed a partnership with iSciences (the company from which EYE acquired the original iTrack) to use the device in a clinical trial. However there were a few barriers and drawbacks which basically led to the industry moving away from drug delivery and focusing on MIGS and ABIC. This article however intrigues me, as it is the first of its type that I can find which wasn't published pre-2015. Perhaps improving iTrack so that it can be used more effectively as a drug delivery device may be one of the things the company is working on with its R&D program...

This image definitely shows the versatility of the iTrack procedure and the many potential applications for it to be used for, such as to deliver drugs into the retina (possibly enabling treatment of retinal conditions like AMD). I'm not really sure what advantage this presents over simply using an injection, but I am also not a doctor!
