To be honest, I have serious concerns about OCT. Its two largest shareholders have Chinese backgrounds, and I’m unsure whether they have any ties to the CCP. This is particularly worrying since antimony is such a critical strategic resource for the West, especially the United States, which requires 30,000 tonnes of antimony annually. Costerfield, for example, can only produce 1,000 tonnes per year. Imagine how ironic it would be if OCT’s antimony ended up under CCP control!Looking at their board, there are also Chinese members.
The two largest Chinese shareholders hold a combined 23.4%. Are there any other hidden Chinese individuals or companies involved? Could this raise any FIRB concerns?
As for OCT’s historical drilling results, half of them were poor, and the company seems to engage in cherry-picking. In many announcements, they’ve only highlighted three relatively decent drill results, while the rest are barely mentioned. OCT has just completed its latest round of drilling, and while we’re waiting for the results, there’s a good chance they’re hiding poor outcomes again. If that’s the case, the share price could take a serious hit.
