...is our geology department still in the dark ages?

I'm concerned that we have not being used the latest techniques in our geology department to aid:
    • Stakeholder Communications
    • Few of us are geologists or geophysicists, but we are not numb-skulls either.  It seems to me that for a long time the methods to communicate the geological information and potential to company decision makers and also shareholders (all stakeholders really), have been dumbed down.  Where are our "Geosoft Oasis Montage" interactive 3D PDF's (also "Vulcan Geology)? : upload_2018-6-24_4-50-32.png upload_2018-6-24_4-53-44.png
    • This one shows the integration of geophysics, geochemistry and GIS (Geographic Information System) data: upload_2018-6-24_5-0-36.png
      • Montage = to combine different elements to form a single composition

      • It's not my purpose to "look to the past with anger and blame", but it is worth noting that three Orinoco employees were acknowledged as contributors in the Brazilian Journal of Geology paper.  It's a thing of beauty and I think it has provided fantastic drilling targets ...but where are the highly technical, highly detailed, highly accurate state of the art reports for OGX shareholders?  I'm not saying there is anything wrong with videos of geo's in the field swinging picks and showing us alteration and rock chip samples ...but lets have the high-tech too.
    • Exploration
      • I don't think we truly appreciate the confidence gained and risk reduced by having a number of disparate sources of data that coincide positively.
      • For example:
        • Geochemistry
        • Airborne Geophysics
        • Ground IP survey ("lighting up" faults/quartz/sulphides etc)
        • Rock Chip Samples
        • Outcropping mineralisation
        • Surface Geology
        • Drill hole analysis (core or rock chip sample results)
        • Borehole surveys / IP / 3D photography
      • All this data overlayed in a single composition synergistically builds a picture that increases confidence to provide great insight to assist in positioning optimal drill targets.
      • Drilling is expensive ...so lets give it the best possible chance -not all of our drills hit mineralisation even at Cascavel!

    • upload_2018-6-24_5-35-38.png
    • What about our data that we inherited from SML (Troy), this is in "Microsoft Access" format ...are these 2,297 drill holes of 100,0439.67 meters of drillhole data included in a modern usable geology software program?  One that we can generate 3D visualisations of the existing (and subsequent) drill results ...along with the thousands of rock chip samples and soil samples?
    • All this data can be used for stakeholder communications as well as exploration planning: upload_2018-6-24_6-10-32.png
    • XRF Analysis.  Do we have onsite state of the art XRF analysis?  Why is it important?:
      • Not only do modern hand-held XRF machines have excellent accuracy and provable calibration abilities, they are fantastic for instant grade indication and this can be invaluable for drill planning ...but also for stakeholder communication.
      • XRF results are capable of being used in ASX reports with appropriate qualifications -invaluable as interim shareholder communication during lengthy assay delays.  For that matter they may be also in JORC statements in appropriate circumstances:

      • (numerous other examples available on Dr Google).
    • IP Surveys
      • Ground IP / resistivity/chargeability  surveys "light up" quartz because it does not hold electrical charge (not a good battery), but the opposite for sulphides because they do hold charge.  Either way, a clear anomaly may be possible and this should surely be highly beneficial for both narrow vein quartz mining, sulphides and fault-lines and geological boundaries.  Here is a successful exploration company using IP surveys to "light up" narrow vein quarts lodes:

    • And here is another company planning IP in high grade gold in
    Tasmania:

I think that from a difficult position OGX has performed admirably and I support Joe, Jeremy, Richard and Thiago in their efforts.

We need to be keenly aware of our goals of:
    1. Develop Cascavel and surrounding gold deposits.
    2. Develop our massive exploration tenements efficiently.
    3. Maintain market confidence.
Time windows are not open indefinitely and some expense on the technology mentioned above may actually end up being the company saviour.  Lets get the exploration happening with a dash of urgency!

    Cheers,

    SJB

    All IMHO
