The ideological rantings of Christopher Pyne and moves towards political interference in the curriculum are indeed a concern. They are delusional, hollow and mischievous in nature and serve to further denigrate the work of public schools and teachers collectively.

Throughout the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s the teaching of 'religion' in public schools became farcical and even acted to turn our young people off it.

Church practitioners are rarely professionally trained and accredited teachers. When they become a formal part of the curriculum they simply cannot compete, let alone manage classrooms of energised teenagers.

As for requiring kids of different faiths to be taught by teachers about religious matters by teachers of other faiths again; what a minefield that would be!

Meantime society now has become increasingly concerned by matters swirling around such as child sex abuse and alleged cover-up responses that enabled the insidious practice to affect so many people.

The appointment of two so-called 'experts' to undertake a review of a national curriculum designed by a much more qualified and broadly based panels of educators will reveal more about their prejudices and misunderstandings of the needs of the curriculum of the future than it will assist in improving educational outcomes.

Before Tony Abbott and Co generate extra community concerns worried about crime, violence and corruption in our society and in some way attributing that to public education, they should be looking at a 100% overhaul of our fraudulent and archaic Constitution.

The harsh reality is that under our archaic Constitution our legal system is a complex quagmire that serves the needs of the legal profession and our pollies. It is not accountable to the public, our courts are not reflecting community opinion and our tired federation of sovereign colonies is a self-contradictory mess.

It's about time our self-serving pollies cut the crap and got their own house in order!
