Many of today's businesses really don't need as many people workers but they continue to employ people for various reasons...some employ family members in family businesses even when they are inefficient, govt depts don't modernise because the unions have a stranglehold on maintaining old inefficient systems and dont want to lose members. There are many one-person businesses everywhere, but you cant count them. You seem to believe that everyone needs to have a job working even if breaking rocks, but i can see the day when employer numbers will drop and many people will need to look after themselves. those who prepare will be best protected, the rest won't be happy but will survive on welfare payments.
