You express no understanding. Regal has entered via a LONG position. To go short you have to SELL the stock not buy it. This is also a highly illiquid stock in terms of broader institutional market. When it boils down to it. Vmt is actually a terrible short. It’s not even expensive and it’s growing fast, hence instos buying. Any shorter would realise it’s a great long when analysing it.
