    I don't think many of the tech companies actually made any money

    there are also a lot of explorers that probably won't make any money

    However a lot of the miners made big money eg zinifex

    OZL has about $1.2 bn of cash as proof of that.

    even now with commodity prices at or below the long term trend lines and you factor in exchange rates, these mines are making money.

    In addition to that the tech bubble was based on an imagined world which was going to revolutionize retail and in the end didn't really eventuate to extent that people thought
    The mining boom is based to a certain extent on something more tangible in the emergence of two the worlds most populace companies.

    so I'd say there has definately been a bubble in resources and we have all been sucked in big time, but not totally. Resources are not tulips or sci fi.
