    sleepy dartboard i reckon thats the exact senario that keeps rudd and co awake at night.
    the question is whether the public recognise, as was mentioned, that its a global problem. this is where the media come in. they can paint the picture according to their agenda.
    if rudd keeps murdoch etc within reach he'll be ok.

    just thinking about the intelligence of the average aussie, here now we have someone banging on about low union membership. could it be that its a buyers market, where workers are in demand and are usually satisfied by dependant bosses, thanks largely to the once in a century asian expansion, that has zero to do with aussie politics, where there are job shortages in every sector all over the country, where we are now forced to import thousands of workers just to get things built.
    some people just dont get it. unions are thankfully needed less now but they are, on the whole, the ones looking out for the welfare of everyone who earns a wage, and the broader society.
    eg: teachers strike last week. at risk is the educational needs of children in remote and undesirable areas.
    no union=poor education for these kids.
