That probably is part of it. Anyone would be infuriated to see a windup puppet like rudd reading from a stolen photocopy of your work and claiming it as his work.

In some ways this "me-too" strategy the union bosses have adopted seems to me to have a certain air of desperation to it.

As amazing as it seems, this obvious campaign of deception seems to be the best they can come up with.

It seems to be what could be referred to as a "hail mary pass" where they have nothing to lose and in any case no better idea of how to seize power again.


Unfortunately the media is mysteriously cooperative in the cover-up of any slips, such as the garret fiasco and the planned gst increase and any of the other dangerous left-wing policies that the union bosses plan to burden the public with under a labor regime.

This might be just a media strategy to create a more interesting horse race from what should be a landslide Howard victory, or it could reflect dangerous media bias.
